Advanced course in da Vinci Robotic Assisted Surgery

Theoretical Session for Experienced Console Surgeons

This advanced workshop is designed for specialists in gynecology with at least one year of experience performing robotic-assisted surgery with the da Vinci system. It is tailored for surgeons who wish to deepen their expertise and expand their capabilities in managing complex surgical scenarios and advanced procedures within benign gynecology.

Workshop Highlights

Through an engaging and interactive theoretical session, this course provides:

  • In-depth Review of Anatomy and Diagnoses: Focused discussions on challenging gynecological cases, including specific anatomical considerations and variations that impact surgical approaches.
  • Advanced Surgical Techniques: Analysis of cutting-edge techniques and strategies to optimize patient outcomes in complex robotic-assisted procedures.
  • Problem-Solving in Complicated Cases: Collaborative exploration of how to approach unforeseen challenges during robotic surgeries, including case-based discussions.
  • Roundtable Case Discussions: An opportunity for participants to bring their own complex cases for analysis, peer review, and expert feedback. These discussions will focus on decision-making, surgical planning, and patient management.
  • Optimization of Robotic Workflow: Insights into enhancing efficiency and safety in robotic surgical procedures, including team dynamics, instrumentation choices, and operating room setup.

Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, participants will:

  • Gain a deeper understanding of advanced applications and techniques in benign robotic-assisted gynecological surgery.
  • Develop strategies for handling complex cases with greater confidence and precision.
  • Learn from peers and experts through collaborative discussions on real-life scenarios.
  • Be equipped with the knowledge to further refine their surgical skills and patient management in robotic-assisted procedures.

Course Format

This workshop emphasizes theoretical learning, discussion, and peer collaboration. Unlike hands-on training, this advanced course focuses on enhancing cognitive and decision-making skills through structured presentations, expert-led discussions, and interactive roundtable sessions.

Faculty and Support

The session will be led by Dr. Gaby Moawad from CEAPS, Washington, United States, alongside a team of experienced robotic surgeons. Intuitive Surgical will support the course with resources and insights to help participants maximize their learning experience.
