Introduction to da Vinci Robotic Assisted Surgery

Hands-On Training in Robotic Assisted surgery for surgeons interested in robotics

This workshop is made for residents and specialists in gynecology who has not yet become a console surgeon themselves, but who are interested in or has started the journey of becoming a console surgeon.

Workshop Highlights

Through a combination of theory through presentation from experienced robotic surgeons together with hands-on training on the da Vinci system and the simulator, which will include:

  • Basic functions, port placement and docking of the da Vinci system.
  • Instrument handling, intraoperative use, and safety handling.
  • Exercises in the surgeon’s console, needle guidance and suturing.
  • Simulator training – What exercises to start with and how to best develop?
  • Troubleshooting and emergency undocking.

From this course, you will get a better understanding of the value of da Vinci robotic assisted surgery. It will also help you in your journey of becoming a console surgeon within your hospital.

Intuitive Surgical will support the session by providing the training system, the simulator and trainers.

Faculty and Support

The session will be led by Dr. Ulrika Johannesson from Danderyds Hospital, Sweden. Intuitive Surgical will support the course with resources and technical trainers to help participants maximize their learning experience.
